Unlike other apps which require you to use a fretboard within the app itself, we promote learning on a real guitar. Our app trains your muscle memory in a practical, time-efficient way. We focus on three, important areas:

1. Sight-reading of standard notation.
2. Ear training through live feedback.
3. Fretboard training on a real guitar.

WHY ARE WE UNIQUE? WE ARE MORE PRACTICAL.
We developed this app for ourselves, so that we could learn to sight-read individual notes through live feedback. Though we found other apps to be useful, we wanted a more practical, efficient way to learn. Using a real guitar trains muscle memory immediately. We wanted to learn how to sight-read, train our ears to hear the notes, and have our fingers find their way around a real fretboard while we were practicing.

SEE IT. HEAR IT. PLAY IT.
How does it work? SEE IT: See a note displayed at random on the staff as written for guitar. HEAR IT: Hear the tone of the note. PLAY IT: You are given a short amount of time to reproduce the note on your guitar on your string(s) of choice. Your ear will immediately tell you if you have made a mistake, and you will find your fingers adjusting accordingly. Your memory will remind you on future tries. You are learning to sight-read on guitar!

SETTING THE PREFERENCES
To begin, you will need to set your preferences. Here is a description of the options.

1. Show Note Name—displays letter of note as written on the staff.
2. Tone Delay—sets time delay between randomly produced notes.
3. Tone Repeats—you may repeat the practice note more than once.
4. Treble/Bass—displays the bass or treble clef.
5. Lowest Note—sets the lowest note you are interested in practicing.
6. Highest Note—sets the highest note you are interested in practicing.
7. Sharps/Flats/Neither—allows you to add or remove sharps/flats.

HOW CAN WE IMPROVE?
We are musicians who designed this app for ourselves in order to become better guitar players. We hope you find this app as useful as we have and hope that you will tell us how we can improve it.
